Work Smart Computers was incorporated under the laws of New Jersey in January 1994. Mike Pastor began the company to provide high quality software development services to the business community.Over the years he has provided many successful solutions for a variety of clients. In 1994, he wrote the first foreign exchange history system for the FX Trading Desk at Credit Suisse. The system utilized X/Motif to provide service on all of the hardware needed by the traders. In 1996, he wrote a rule-based account checking system for the ROM (Relationship Opening Maintenance) system used in all of the NYC Citibank Branches. The careful use of object technology (C++) saved the bank a great deal of money by reducing the number of inaccurate account applications.

In 1998, he re-designed a statistical scenario generator to run in a fraction of the original time for a risk management firm at State Street Bank. Recently he has been focused on providing web service sites to corporate customers, implementing J2EE Portals using object oriented techniques (UML & patterns) and IBM Websphere technology. UML is provding the "blueprint" language that software development really needed.

We can now communicate our designs around the world!Mike Pastor was among the earliest Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCP #2845) taking the MS-DOS exam in 1991.As the the Internet gained momentum, he took certification exams in the Micrsoft IIS web server (1997) and Sun Java (1998).He has successfully completed exams from Sun Microsystems in the Java language (SCJP Jan 1998), web component development (SCWCP Jan 2003) and the Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA Sept 2005) designation.

We are looking toward the price-performance potential that open source software (Eclipse, Linux, JBoss/Tomcat, MySQL, etc.) can bring to our clients. The new century has only just begun!
